Paul Caplin, Executive Chairman

Paul founded Caplin Systems in 2000 to develop and market real-time web technology for financial services. He was previously chief executive of Infinet Group, a diversified group of IT services companies, and before that managing director of Caplin Cybernetics Corporation, a developer of high-performance computer systems and an IBM business partner. Prior to that he enjoyed success in the music and television industries.

Paul holds a BSc in mathematics from Imperial College, London, an MA in pure mathematics from Cambridge University, and is an Associate of the Royal College of Science. In 2001 he received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

John Ashworth, Chief Executive Officer

John joined Caplin in February 2014 as chief operating officer and in November 2014 was promoted to chief executive officer. He brings to the role 30 years experience in the technology industry, having started at IBM, where he rose from engineering to management over 11 years. He left to become CEO of Alta Analytics, and then CEO of Fenics, an FX derivatives pricing technology company. When Fenics was acquired by GFI, he became chief commercial officer of GFI.

John has served as a board member of several other firms, including Apama, CMA and TraderMade, and founded his own company, Technology for Markets. In 2010 John joined the FXall executive team as global head of enterprise solutions. He was involved in the listing of FXall on NYSE, and its subsequent sale to Thomson Reuters.

John holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Queen Mary’s College, London.

David Bygrave, Chief Financial Officer 

David joined Caplin in 2010 as chief financial officer. He was previously CFO of Octavian Global Technologies, a multinational software systems and games developer.

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the London office of PwC in 1995 and subsequently worked within the business recovery team providing advice to stakeholders of significant companies in periods of financial transition.

David graduated from Durham University with a BA in Economics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Adam Hawley, Director, Managed Services

Adam has more than 22 years' experience in real-time banking and Internet trading solutions. He joined Caplin in 2000 from Logica (now CGI), and served initially as CTO and then as head of sales, responsible for creating the company's global sales operation.

As director of managed services, Adam is now responsible for all the company’s managed services and infrastructure, and in particular for Caplin Direct.

Adam holds a BSc in mathematics from Imperial College and is ITIL qualified.

Patrick Myles, Chief Technology Officer

Patrick has been with Caplin since 2000, joining as a developer before rapidly rising through the ranks. As chief technology officer since 2009, he has pioneered the adoption of Agile processes and practices at Caplin, creating an engineering team geared to the rapid delivery of high-quality software for Caplin and its customers.

Prior to Caplin Patrick worked for Smiths Industries plc developing automated ADA testing tools for the defence industry. He holds a BSc in computer science from Warwick University. In 2013 he was featured in the Financial News ‘Rising Stars of Trading Technology’.

Andy Redpath, Head of Client Services 

Andy joined Caplin in 2006 and is responsible for the delivery of professional services and support services, and for overseeing all customer projects.

Andy has a background as a developer, QA manager and project manager in a number of sectors including telecommunications, oil and gas and retail banking.

He holds a BSc in computer science from Durham University and MSc in E-Commerce from the University of Sunderland.
